The Battle of Remagen was an 18-day battle during the Allied invasion of Germany in World War II. It lasted from the 7th to the 25th of March 1945 when American forces unexpectedly captured the Ludendorff Bridge over the Rhine intact.

The Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775, were the first major military actions between the British Army and Patriot militias from British America's Thirteen Colonies during the American Revolutionary War. 

Grant was appointed lieutenant general in March 1864 and in command of all the U.S. armies. This campaign was a series of battles fought in Virginia during May and June 1864 towards the end of the Civil War.
