Program Description

Event Details

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American military pilots in the U.S. Army Air Force, overcoming intense segregation and prejudice to fly over 15,000 sorties in WWII. Trained in Tuskegee, Alabama, they formed the 332nd Fighter Group, known as "Red Tails," earning high respect for their role as bomber escorts, which helped initiate military desegregation in 1948.

Come celebrate Black History Month at Hogansville Public Library and see this informative exhibit highlighting this brave group of men who overcame segregation during world war.
