Join us at the LaGrange Memorial Library on December 11th at 6:30 PM in our Community Room for an author talk with LaGrange local Dr. John A. Tures. Dr. Tures, professor of political science at LaGrange College in Georgia, will be discussing his latest work, BRANDED. His research and commentary have appeared in peer-reviewed journals as well as national outlets such as Yahoo News, Huffington Post, and The Observer.
Set against the backdrop of a charged American political landscape, BRANDED follows the intersecting lives of characters whose ambitions, loyalties, and compromises reveal the fragile nature of power. At its core, the novel asks how far individuals — and institutions — are willing to go to preserve influence, and what happens when public trust is treated as a commodity.
Though fictional, BRANDED draws heavily on the currents of modern politics, presenting a narrative that feels both immediate and unsettlingly familiar. Tures uses his background as a political scientist to craft a story that is grounded in real-world logic, yet alive with narrative tension and moral ambiguity.
